On The Right Officially Endorses Matthew Berry for the 8th District

I enthusiastically endorse Matthew Berry for the congressional seat currently held by the ultra-liberal, corrupt Congressman Jim Moran (D-PMA Group). Matthew Berry has a wealth of experience that makes him more than qualified for almost any legal position in the United States, but instead he has chosen to run for election to better serve the people of the 8th District of Virginia. Berry is a graduate of Yale Law School who has clerked for former Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and Judge Laurence H. Silberman of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. He also served in the U.S. Justice Department working with law enforcement agencies by supplying them with the tools and intelligence to fight the War on Terror. During Berry’s time at The Justice Department, he received the John Marshall Award, the Department’s highest award, for excellence in legal performance by attorneys.[i] Matthew served as Deputy General Counsel and then General Counsel of the Federal Communications Commission; and at that position, oversaw 80 employees. Berry has also worked as an attorney who defended low-income parents’ ability to choose the school that is best for their child. [ii]

Matthew Berry opposes the Democrat Cap and Trade bill that Jim Moran has voted yes for. Cap and Trade would raise energy prices and create huge job losses throughout Virginia.[iii] Berry opposes the Democrats’ Health Care Reform bill that is full of kickbacks to unions and numerous pay-offs to Congressmen for their yes votes; Jim Moran supported this bill twice.[iv] Berry supports cutting corporate taxes so that businesses will stop moving out of the United States and more jobs will be created in this country. Berry supports free trade with other countries which will also bring jobs to the U.S. and will decrease prices for goods and services here. Matthew Berry supports a ban on all earmarks, something Jim Moran would never do since he is a congressman who is famous for his pay-for-play earmarks.[v] Berry supports a common sense defense and national security policy, compared to Jim Moran, who supports trying terror suspects in civilian courts in Virginia, no less.[vi] Matthew Berry supports American’s 2nd amendment rights, something Jim Moran could care less about as he wants to ban semi-automatic weapons.[vii] Berry has also proposed transportation plans for the 8th District, something Jim Moran has never done.[viii]

Jim Moran and Matthew Berry are polar opposites: Moran has been a do nothing congressman for too long, while Berry has a list of accomplishments and a will to serve the people of the 8th District. Jim Moran is more likely to be found making foolish statements about Republicans or anti-Semitic remarks instead of working for his constituents in the 8th District.[ix] Matthew Berry has shown that he would be a change of pace in the 8th District and would work to solve the problems of the people in that District. Berry is the common sense choice for any Republican, Conservative, or Independent in the District. Berry has the experience to be a great representative; this is why On the Right strongly endorses him for the 8th District.
